Zenjo-ji Temple

Zenjo-ji Temple was built in 991. Visitors can
spend a relaxing time in its reed-thatched Main
Hall and also in the Treasure Hall, where
Buddha statues from the Heian Period are set
up. The entire precinct is designated as a
historic natural environment preservation area.
By the mountainside, visitors can see “Otome
Kannon,” holding a persimmon branch. The
statue stands in front of Bijo-iwa (Beautiful
Woman Stone) at the legendary place of a local
specialty, the korogaki.
